Aaron Cunanan - Assessment Training

Aaron Cunanan is the founder of Five Rings Athletics, which provides weightlifting coaching, sports performance programs, and coach education. Aaron competed in weightlifting at the national level for several years, and served as an assistant coach under Dr. Kyle Pierce at the USA Weightlifting Center for High Performance and Development in Shreveport, La., from 2011 through 2016. He received his master's degree in kinesiology from LSU Shreveport in 2012. In addition to coaching, Aaron worked for three years as an exercise physiologist at an outpatient physical therapy clinic. He has also been an adjunct instructor at his alma mater since 2012, teaching undergraduate courses in strength and conditioning, biomechanics, structural kinesiology, and sport psychology. Aaron is currently pursuing his PhD in Sport Physiology and Performance at East Tennessee State University, where he serves as an assistant coach at the designated Olympic Training Site at ETSU for weightlifting, as well as a member of the sport science staff.
